IoT, Internet of Things

Defining the Internet of Things: it encompasses all of the networks of connected objects. While these networks can connect to classic internet networks, they are simultaneously compatible with low-speed networks, the latter of which are energy efficient and designed for their use.

IoT sensors: sensors can be integrated to connected objects or be the objects themselves. They have various applications depending on needs: they can, amongst other things, detect the rate of presence in a room, stock shortages or luminosity.

IoT networks: currently; there are 4 in France (LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT and LTE-M). These are all low speed networks managed by telephone operators or their subsidiaries, or by other forms of organisation.

IoT platforms: the information from the IoT sensors is aggregated on the platform and a dashboard presents the data.
